lxml은 기존의 파이썬 바인딩에서 완전히 독립적인, libxml2 및 libxslt에 대한 새로운 파이썬 바인딩입니다. 이것의 목적은 아래와 같습니다:

lxml은 가능하면 많은 ElementTree API를 따라하고, 너무 많은 새로운 API 발명하거나, 또는 사용자가 새로운 것들을 배워야만 하는 것을 피하도록 노력하는, Pythonic API 제공을 목표로 합니다 -- 이미 XML은 충분히 복잡합니다.
