Nginx ("engine X" ou motor X) é um servidor web e proxy reverso de alto desempenho criado por Igor Sysoev. Pode ser usado tanto como servidor web autônomo quanto como proxy para reduzir a carga em servidores de infraestrutura HTTP ou e-mail.

Este metapacote provê uma versão do nginx idêntica à do nginx-full, mas sem quaisquer módulos de terceiros, e apenas módulos na base de código original do nginx.
