MIT 광자 밴드 패키지는 모든 직렬 및 병렬 컴퓨터에서, 밴드 구조 (분산 관계) 및 주기적인 유전체 구조의 전자기 모드를 계산하는 free 프로그램입니다. 이 프 로그램은 Joannopoulos Ab Initio 물리학 그룹내에 MIT에 다니는 Steven G. Johnson이 개발하였으며, 광자 결정 구조를 연구하기 위해 설계되었습니다.

이 패키지는 MPI 프로토콜의 mpich 구현을 사용하는, MPB의 병렬 버젼을 포함합 니다. 컴퓨터 클러스터를 계산할 수 있습니다.
