Icinga 2는 모든 규모의 네트워크 요구에 맞는 범용 모니터링 어플리케이션입니 다. Icinga 1.x는 Nagios Fork로 시작하였습니다; 이 새로운 세대는 C++로 처음 부터 다시 개발되었으며 멀티쓰래딩 및 클러스트를 지원합니다.

 * Nagios plugins API를 사용하는 모든 작은 스크립트들은 check
   plugin으로 사용할 수 있습니다.
 * 사용자 정의 스크립트 (예제에 포함)에 대한 경고 알림;
 * Livestatus 및 Graphite 기본 지원.
