Ratfor77 è un preprocessore che converte il dialetto Rational Fortran in Fortran 77 ordinario. L'output può quindi essere compilato usando gfortran o f2c + gcc.

Il dialetto Ratfor fornisce strutture di controllo in stile C e alcuni addolcimenti sintattici che rendono i programmi Fortran più facili da leggere e scrivere.
