LIRC sta per "Linux Infra-red Remote Control" (telecomando a infrarossi per Linux).

Questo pacchetto fornisce utilità di X per LIRC:

 - irxevent: permette di controllare applicazioni di X con un telecomando.
 - xmode2: visualizza forme d'onda infrarosse del telecomando senza un
           oscilloscopio. Non è necessaria per Irman o schede TV.
