L'esecutore di test per il desktop GNOME fornisce un'infrastruttura di esecuzione per i test installati per GNOME.

Questi test sono utili per verificare la funzionalità del software come installato e pacchettizzato, ed affiancano, piuttosto che sostituire, i test in fase di compilazione ("make check"). Per esempio si può voler eseguire i test installati da una suite di test DEP-8 autopkgtest come forma di test di regressione.
