xdg-dbus-proxy è un proxy di filtraggio per connessioni D-Bus. Faceva originariamente parte del progetto Flatpak, ma è stato separato come modulo autonomo per facilitarne l'utilizzo in altri contesti come, ad esempio, nella sandbox opzionale di WebKit-GTK basata su bubblewrap.
Affinché questo proxy sia utile, è necessario negare ai client D-Bus con restrizioni l'accesso al normale socket D-Bus (ad esempio tramite l'utilizzo di contenitori o regole AppArmor), e fornire invece accesso al socket Unix in ascolto creato dal proxy (tipicamente facendone un mount-bind in un contenitore Linux).
