Unicorn è un server HTTP per applicazioni Rack progettato per servire solamente client veloci su connessioni a bassa latenza e con grande larghezza di banda e sfruttare le funzionalità nei kernel Unix e simil-Unix. I client lenti potrebbero solo essere serviti ponendo, tra Unicorn e i client lenti, un proxy inverso capace di gestire completamente in un buffer sia le richieste sia le risposte.
