emulazione QEMU in modalità utente (binari statici)

QEMU è un emulatore veloce di processore che permette l'emulazione di: Alpha, ARM, CRIS, i386, LoongArch, M68k (ColdFire), MicroBlaze, MIPS, PowerPC, RISC-V, S390x, SH4, SPARC, x86-64, Xtensa e altri. Utilizzando un traduttore dinamico raggiunge una velocità ragionevole mantenendo semplice il port su nuove CPU ospitanti.

Questo pacchetto fornisce gli eseguibili con link statico per l'emulazione in modalità utente. In modalità utente QEMU può lanciare processi Linux compilati per una CPU su un'altra CPU.

Se è installato anche il pacchetto qemu-user-binfmt, esso registrerà automaticamente sul kernel i gestori dei formati binari da questo pacchetto qemu-user, perciò sarà possibile eseguire direttamente binari estranei. Senza qemu-user-binfmt è possibile registrare alcuni binfmt usando:

    cat /usr/share/qemu/binfmt.d/qemu-ARCH.conf \
       > /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/register
