La Debian Almquist Shell (dash) è una shell aderente agli standard POSIX, derivata da ash.

Dato che esegue gli script più velocemente di bash e che ha un numero inferiore di dipendenze a librerie (rendendola più robusta verso i problemi software e hardware), è usata come shell di sistema predefinita nei sistemi Debian.
