controllo e monitoraggio di sistemi di memorizzazione usando S.M.A.R.T

Il pacchetto smartmontools contiene due programmi (smartctl e smartd) per controllare e monitorare i sistemi di memorizzazione usando il sistema S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology System) incorporato nella maggior parte dei moderni dischi fissi ATA e SCSI. Deriva dal pacchetto smartsuite e include il supporto per dischi ATA/ATAPI-5. Dovrebbe girare su ogni sistema Linux moderno.
