Pngcrush es un optimizador para archivos PNG (Portable Network Graphics, «Gráficos de red portátiles»). Su propósito principal es reducir el tamaño del flujo de datos PNG IDAT al intentar varios niveles de compresión y métodos de filtro PNG. También puede ser usado para eliminar trozos auxiliares no deseados, o para añadir ciertos trozos incluyendo gAMA, tRNS, y trozos de información textuales.
