NMODL Framework er en kodeoprettelsesmotor for NEURON MODeling Language (NMODL). Er designet med moderne kompiler og kodeoprettelsesteknikker for at:

 * tilbyde modulopbyggede værktøjer til at fortolke, analyse og
   transformere NMODL
 * tilbyde nem Python API på højt niveau
 * Oprette optimeret kode for moderne beregningsarkitekturer inklusive
   CPU'er, GPU'er
 * Fleksibilitet til at implementere nye simulatormotorer
 * Understøtte den fulde NMODL-specifikation
