Fri implementering for RAW-afkodning

libopenraw er et fortsættende projekt for en fri programimplementering af afkodning af kameraers RAW-filer. En af hovedårsagerne er at dcraw ikke er egnet for nem integration i programmer, og der er brug for en nem måde at bruge API til at bygge frie digitale billedbehandlingsprogrammer.

Det er også målet at adressere manglende funktionalitet i dcraw såsom afkodning af metadata og nem udtrækning af miniaturebilleder.
