CMake bruges til at kontrollere programkompileringsprocessen med brug af en simpel platform og af kompileren uafhængige konfigurationsfiler. CMake opretter medfølgende makefiler og arbejdsrum, som kan bruges i kompilermiljøet, som du vælger.
