GNU privacy guard - netværkstjeneste for certifikathåndtering

Dirmngr er en server for håndtering og overførsel af OpenPGP- og X.509-certifikater, samt opdaterings- og statussignaler relateret til disse certifikater. For OpenPGP indebærer dette at hente fra de offentlige HKP/HKPS-nøgleservere eller fra LDAP-servere. For X.509 inkluderer dette Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL'er) og Online Certificate Status Protocol updates (OCSP). Kan bruge Tor til netværksadgang.

Dirmngr bruges til netværksadgang af gpg, gpgsm og dirmngr-client, blandt andre værktøjer. Med mindre at denne pakke er installeret, vil de dele af GnuPG-programpakken, som forsøger at interagere med netværket fejle.
